#Introducing the #Mujerista Incubator Cohort 2 Reclaiming My Whole Self: Bold, Soft & Unafraid We are in it. 9 mujeristas. 3 out of 7 sessions in the books. One shared commitment to not carry our ideas alone. The Mujerista Incubator is a #Kindred Hub created to hold space for womxn and femme identifying folks to explore, shape, and share what has been living within them. A Mujerista is not defined by title but by truth. She creates, questions, nurtures, and disrupts. She carries vision, softness, rage, and joy and offers it back to the world in her own way. This space is about reclaiming the full self in community. Practicing voice. Testing ideas. Being witnessed in real time. Each Mujerista entered this space with a semilla, an idea, a practice, a story, a calling. These ideas are breaking open, taking shape, enhancing their voice, their rhythm, their way. Over the next few months, these mujeristas will continue to tend to their semilla sharing, refining, and growing their work in community. What follows is the Accelerator a continuation for those ready to expand, deepen, and bring their offering further into the world. This is not about perfection. It is about practice. Today @sandritatrevino took us on a journey... She tuned into the radio as she held us through her #deepListening set. Her approach shifted everything. It felt like we were tapping into something broadcasting live… something transmitting beyond the room… like we were part of a larger frequency. Not just listening to music but witnessing it as it unfolded. There was something really special about not knowing what was coming next. Just trusting. Just receiving. Just being with the sound as it found us. And in that, we softened. We connected differently. We were a part of it. #aché

Today in Kindred news we contributed 3 Workshops for 50+ Students. 1 Collective Vision. For Teen Mental Health summit at @chicagocyc ​8 hours after touching down in the Chi, we went straight to work. Today was a marathon of creativity—rotating over 50 students through a three-part journey to build the #COLLECTIVEBLOOM installation. ​We’re breaking growth down into three powerful stages: THE ROOTS (B & L): Led by the incredible @simonejw digging into heritage and the foundations that hold us up. THE PRESENT (The O’s): Our session. A deep dive into "Main Character Energy." Every student DIY-mapped their current era, their wins, and the boundaries they’re setting right now on vibrant orange cardstock. THE FUTURE (M & !): Led by the visionary @Mimi_moves you capturing the "Rising" and the dreams being manifested for what’s next. ​Watching 50+ individual identities cut out and pasted onto that black butcher paper to spell BLOOM was pure magic. The center of this installation is officially vibrating with life. ​A massive shoutout to the dream team Simone and @Mimi the synergy is unmatched. And a huge thank you to @slomo2.0 for coming through and holding it down for us immediately after we landed. Thirteen men showed up and sat in circle. That’s how Mano began. Jose and I opened the doors and held the container… but the truth is, the hermanos shaped the space. That energy, that presence, that was y’all. We spoke plain and from the heart. Manhood. Wellness. The weight we carry. The responsibility. The ways we’re working to show up with more intention for ourselves, our families, and our communities. We set the touchstones together. Nothing forced. Just listening, reflection, and respect all around the circle. We closed with gratitude. Music in the background. Energy grounded. Just letting the moment sit with us… not rushing out of it. Jose and I are full. Grateful in a real way. We opened the doors, and you all stepped in ready to be present with one another. Mano continues. Monthly. Steady. Eight Mujeristas, #LaMesadeMujeres, and a whole lot of magic to start this March. ​Pues empezo asi, March 7th. The energy at Casa Kindred was just… easy. I was sick but i felt so grounded for the launch of Mujerista cohort 2. We sat in that circle with the roses, naming our seeds and realizing that even though we were meeting for the first time, we were already in sync. Just that instant click of being aligned. ​Then we carried that "meant to be" vibe over to @libertadsurchi for March 8th to celebrate International Womyn’s Day. ​La Mesa de Mujeres was pure light. Sunlight pouring into the room, plates being shared, and so many Mujeres from Mujerista, #Hermanidad, Kindred new friends, life homies and family showing up. It felt like one big exhale. ​From the altar to the mesa, it’s all the same love. ​I spent so long thinking I was a Sagittarius rising, but I just found out I’m actually a Cancer sun, Pisces moon , with an Aquarius rising. It makes so much sense. Kindred is the manifestation of that..the deep water, the healing, the altar vibes, but with that Aquarius need for collective space and sisterhood. It’s not just a sacred space; it’s a reflection of this energy I finally understand. ​Grateful to be fed. Grateful to be home. There is something powerful about women gathered at a table. On March 8th, in honor of International Women’s Day, we come together for La Mesa de Mujeres 🌹 a brunch in celebration of the women who shape our lives. The mothers. The sisters. The mentors. Kindred, You’ve been seeing the gatherings at Casa Kindred. And beyond those walls, Kindred continues doing the multigenerational groundwork in schools and community spaces. Black History Month looked like this in our afterschool with @chicagocyc space today. We started with the youth's questions. The real ones. The curious ones. The ones that deserve time. Then we explored how Black communities were often excluded from formal mental health spaces and how healing still lived anyway. Through art. Through music. Through faith. Through storytelling. Through community. Our Bloomers and Cultivators learned about Black pioneers in mental health and honored the ways our ancestors protected their minds long before it was called therapy. And then they created. “Keep our mental health intact because our ancestors fought for it.” Advice to help mental health. Breathing. Confidence. Positive thoughts. Not letting others knock you down. They illustrated Black the father of black Psychology Dr. Francis and others They named legacy. They claimed their own wellness. Kindred Schools and our afterschool programming are alive and strong. Black History is not only about survival - It is about how we heal. And today, they showed us how. I especially loved the gospel songs that were sung, and the dance party we had! Because joy is liberation! Also deeply grateful to @simonejw for helping me crystallize this idea and shape it with clarity. Story Time 🦚 Aging has never scared me. But it has always intrigued me. The layers. The memory. The meaning making. The becoming and unbecoming When I was at Adler, during one of my final years, I procrastinated signing up for classes… especially the electives. By the time I logged in, all the highly sought after ones were already full. Of course 🙃 So I chose the one that still had space. Advanced Counseling Skills with Older Adults. Hands down one of my favorite courses. I became completely fascinated by the lifespan. Because each decade carries its own emotional, cognitive, physical, and even spiritual learnings. And yes… crisis, hardships, loss, injustices, moments that shake us. Of course. But something else became very clear to me too. How much we actually have in common across generations. How human our fears, longings, regrets, and hopes truly are. How deeply mental health is connected to meaning making. One of the most powerful parts of that class was interviewing three elders over 65. The conversations were profound. Tender. Honest. I left those interviews in tears. I spoke with someone in their 60s, someone in their 70s, and someone in their 80s. I have been forever changed by that experience. And somehow, this tree has always felt connected to that learning. This is La Ceiba de Vieques, a sacred tree estimated to be more than 300 years old. I visit it every time I go. Every single time. Standing beside it, touching it, leaning into it… I am reminded of time, endurance, memory, and wisdom that cannot be rushed. Of what it means to live through seasons. It has spoken to me and i hold those whispers dearly. Full circle moment. Porque today… I get to facilitate a workshop for older adults called Love Yourself Where You Are 🤍 I get to walk through the decades with them. Hear their stories. Witness their reflections. And gently invite a glimpse of self love, and maybe even a deeper love for how we care for, listen to, and honor our elders. Because aging is not disappearing. Because dignity has no expiration date. Because the way we hold our elders quietly reveals the kind of society we are choosing to be .

Kindred is live. And still becoming. Our website has been published for a little while now, but we haven’t fully publicized it because it’s not done. And today I realized that is okay. The process is the Kindred way. Imperfections are beautiful. Taking our time is a gift. Kindred was never meant to be rushed. It has been built slowly, intentionally, and with care. Guided by lived experience, relationships, and values rather than business as usual, hustle culture, or the status quo. As a founder, a proud immigrant, and as a woman, I have been learning as I go. With time, I have learned how important it is to protect the vision, especially when outside expectations or urgency try to shape the pace or direction. What once felt confusing now feels clearer. In my mid 40s, I trust my inner compass more deeply and return to it when the noise gets loud. Leaping when it feels aligned. Pausing when it doesn’t. Choosing an artistic, community rooted, values aligned way of building. One step, one offering, one relationship at a time. Three and a half years in, and it still feels like the beginning. There is so much more to create, imagine, discover, and do. Deep gratitude to @studioitzi for his creativity, care, and vision in shaping our website. Almost there, David. I see you. A place where men are given room to reflect and where in that reflection everything around us begins to shift. MANO is a men’s circle. A grounded space to talk honestly about belief, power, patriarchy, and how we show up in relationship at home with partners in family and in community. MANO is the mirror of Hermanidad. Sacred Sound Studio | Deep Listening #CasaKindred ((01.25.26)) ☆☆☆☆ We opened the gathering with a grounding check in and a simple prompt: "When do you notice yourself reaching for music most." ☆☆☆☆ About 17 of us gathered sharing briefly and arriving fully. @giroscopios ((Charly Garcia)) closed the check in by offering his own story. He spoke about growing up surrounded by family culture television and curiosity and how music was always present shaping him influencing how he listens and guiding the way he chooses to collect sound. ☆☆☆☆ From there we entered the listening lounge. Ninety minutes of #deeplistening. No talking. Only ((sound)). ☆☆☆☆ Charly guided us through selections from his 60s and 70s social justice vinyl collection music he has gathered over a lifetime as a crate digger vinyl collector music journalist and founder of Sonorama. Each record carried history intention and care. As the music played we responded quietly through art. Painting writing coloring journaling and notes. Listening learning and communicating back without words. ☆☆☆☆ We closed the experience together reflecting on what it meant to listen this deeply and hearing Charly share from both perspectives as listener and selector through a gentle Q and A. -- #SacredSoundStudio is an experiment in slowing down.
